Kaart Orkney Mainland 6 Landranger Serie Ordnance Survey
De Landranger serie van Ordnance Survey is de 1:50.000 kaartenreeks voor allround gebruik. Deze serie van 204 kaarten dekt heel Groot Brittannië.
De kaarten bevatten naast het wegennet en spoorlijnen veel recreatieve en toeristische informatie. Ook de ruiterpaden, zandpaden of wegen met beperkte toegang zijn netjes ingetekend. Liefhebbers van Lange Afstands Paden of National Trails worden met deze kaarten ook op hun wenken bediend.
Door middel van logische symbolen zijn campings, jeugdherbergen, bezoekerscentra, parkeerplaatsen, picknickplaatsen, wereld erfgoed locaties, sportcentra en toeristische attracties netjes ingetekend en snel terug te vinden.
Met contouren met een interval van 10 meter geven de kaarten een zeer gedetailleerde presentatie van de topografie van het land.

These highly detailed maps show all the administrative boundaries, settlements as small as isolated farms, road network down to unfenced roads and country tracks, and field boundaries (hedges and drystone walls) which make navigation across the countryside much easier. Steep gradients on roads are indicated. Various landmarks, eg. powerlines, archaeological sites, windmills, churches and lighthouses are shown, and additional graphics indicate natural terrain features such as cliffs, scree, mud and vegetation variations. Contour interval is 5 metres in the lower parts of the country and 10 metres in the uplands, and spot heights are marked. Each map covers an area of 30 x 20km (i.e. approx. 19 x 12 miles), with some double-sided maps covering more, as indicated in the individual descriptions. The maps are fully GPS compatible, with the National Grid shown at 1km intervals and latitude and longitude indicated by margin ticks at 1'.

Grote Routepaden Gids Mol Omstreken
De Streek-GR "Mol-Om" is 80 km lang en doorkruist de Zuiderkempen. Het pad ontstond in de vroege jaren '70 uit lokale Molse initiatieven en werd achteraf als 1ste "Streek-GR buiten Frankrijk" in de GR-structuur opgenomen. Een kleine, maar fijne klassieker dus.
Mol - met 2 kanalen op haar grondgebied - werd in het verleden een klein, maar toch belangrijk handels- en nijverheidscentrum. Ondanks de industrialisering (o.m. zandwinning!) heeft deze streek nog ontzettend veel groen en natuurschoon, denken we maar aan de uitgestrekte dennenbossen, de vele zandheuvels en de heldere meren (het Zilvermeer!) tussen Postel en Averbode.
